Email a Friend - Mount Toubkal Ascent
Mt Toubkal (4167m) is the highest mountain in North Africa. The trek to the summit is challenging but not technical and does not require any mountaineering experience. We drive from Marrakesh to Imlil, a village in the High Atlas mountains, to begin. Following switch-back paths up slopes covered in scree, we camp overnight near Neltner Refuge before attempting our summit ascent the next day. On a clear day the panoramic views from the top of Mt Toubkal are truly spectacular and it is possible to look out over the Sahara to the south.
