Larapinta Trek

I thought I would just drop you a note and let you know that the Larapinta Trek George & I did a couple of weeks ago was absolutely sensational. The group, the weather, the scenery, the terrain, the food, the campsites, the stars at night, and not to forget our fabulous 2 guides, Max S!! and Victor Trail was just a holiday that will stay with us for a long time. The group of people was just fantastic and everyone just got on well and as for Max & Victor, if I ever plan another Australian adventure I will do my utmost to ensure one of them if not both were the guides, the nicest, funniest and most of all very professional fellows, they kept the group in great spirits and the knowledge they both have is just outstanding, especially Max for such a young fellow. They did a great job in camp setting everything out for us, all we had to do was enjoy it. I can't sign off without mentioning the food, what these 2 guys whipped up for us everyday, breakfast, lunch on the track was just unbelievable what they carried and dinner - always 3 courses and always different, I doubt anyone lost too much wait on this trek. It was just a great pleasure to have meet 2 such great fun fellows.
Now to go off and think about what I will do next !!!!

Volcanoes of Sicily - Guided

To the north of the island of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea is the beautiful Aeolian Archipelago, made up of 7 diverse islands including Lipari, Salina, Vulcano and Stromboli, whose active volcanic cone dominates the horizon. Dramatic cliffs and winding coastline, black beaches and thermal hot springs, a deep blue sea and charming port towns are all characteristic of this enchanting group of islands. Four days have been set aside to explore these islands on foot including a guided ascent of Stromboli subject to conditions, where fiery lava explodes regularly from its active crater. The daily walks are interspersed with opportunities to relax on the beach, snorkel, explore the ports and villages or bathe in therapeutic hot mud. Back on the mainland of Sicily the focus shifts to the famous volcano, Mt Etna, where the 2002/03 eruption opened a line of gaping craters. From our hotel at the base of Mt Etna, the walks include an ascent to 2900m where it is possible to observe the craters and appreciate panoramic views all the way to the Ionian coast.
