Everest High Passes

...we shouldn't finish without mentioning admiration for the endlessly busy Mr Lama. He like all World Expeditions staff we met, was very charming and knowledgable, this characteristic seems to be a requirement for employment with the company

Everest Base Camp & Kala Pattar over 55's

All the highlights you would expect from the Everest region are included in this well paced trek to Everest Base Camp. We take extra time to acclimatise whilst exploring the often overlooked corners such as Khumjung and Khunde, before ascending above the tree line to Thyangboche, with time to explore the famous Thyangboche Monastery before continuing to Deboche. Descending through rhododendron forest we emerge into the upper reaches of the Khumbu, and surrounded by the worlds most famous peaks we make our way to Everest Base Camp. During the months of March to May we can see many climbing expeditions preparing to climb the most famous mountain on our planet. We have also factored extra time up high in order to provide the best chances of climbing Kala Pattar, which will provide unrivalled views and photo opportunities of Mount Everest and surrounding peaks. This trek provides the very best chances of achieving your goal of reaching Everest Base Camp and of climbing Kala Pattar, with all accommodation in comfortable eco lodges and our exclusive private eco campsites with off the ground camp beds and heated dining rooms.

traveller reviews

This was easily my most memorable, exciting and exhilarating holiday. A very special thank you goes to our trek leader Bir Singh for his excellent leadership skills, his ready smile and sense of humour. He was our leader, doctor, nurse and counsellor. He told us what to wear and kept an eye on each and every one of us to make sure we were alright. He gave us pep talks when we were down in the dumps or doubted ourselves. He talked about his personal life and his fears and hopes. It was like being part of a very special family. Thanks also go to Mahavir, our first class front Sherpa who guided us safely to EBC and back and at the same time spotted climbers on Lhotse and all kinds of wild life, and Ujwal who had a cheeky comment no matter how early or how cold it was. They both served our cups of tea in the morning, our washing water, our meals and made sure we always had plenty of water. Krishna our cook and his helpers provided us with excellent meals, and our porters carried our hefty loads. Thank you also to my trek mates who kept the jokes and laughter going and made the whole trek seem effortless.
