Everest Base Camp

Thank you for the best experience of my life. I couldn't fault anything on the trek and I had a ball. Our crew lead by Bir Sing were always smiling and helpful and this is what made the experience so great.

I never thought I'd laugh so and much and the bond that formed in such a short time between the crew and trekkers grew stronger everyday so much so that some of us didn't want to leave - it was hard to say goodbye.

Rinjani Climb & Gili Islands

The small island of Lombok is dominated by the spectacular Mount Rinjani (3726m), Indonesia's second highest volcano, semi active and held in awe by the islanders who regularly ascend the steep trail to the crater rim. We follow in their footsteps completing an introductory trek and wandering the crater to appreciate the bright emerald green waters of Lake Segara Anak. We then travel by boat to the tranquil Gili Islands where we can indulge in some snorkelling or just relax on its beautiful beaches. We complete this exciting journey with a fascinating cultural tour on Lombok including the traditional weaving in Sukarara, the Pura Kalasa temple in Narmada, Mataram and the beautiful beach at Tanjung Aan.

traveller reviews

From beginning to end, starting with your excellent communication and organisation right up until my departure date, everything was arranged with ease and efficiency from your end. and the experience on Lombok did not disappoint. In fact, it exceeded all my expectations in terms of adventure,
excitement, beauty, friendships forged and memories made. I would like to make special mention of the delightful and devoted Lombok locals on the ground who made our trip so much fun and so carefree. They all went above and beyond their duty to make us feel comfortable, safe, welcome,
relaxed and very special. ERNAWAN - our lovely, humble tour leader, driver and fixer for whom nothing was too much trouble. He drove us everywhere with care and precision and passed on all his knowledge about his culture and country. He went out of his way to make everything just perfect for us. SAR - our cheerful mountain guide on Mt Rinjani who smiled all day, every day, non-stop. We had so much fun and so many laughs. he helped us make informed decisions about our progress and plans and encouraged us every step of the way. he truly believed that we could do it (the climb) and passed on this motivation with a wisdom way beyond his years. he made sure all arrangements were carried out without fuss and communicated this to his friends, the porters. Sar's enthusiasm and vitality was infectious. He was the driving force behind our successful bid for the summit and I will always remember his kindness and the joy he shares with everyone on the mountain as he goes about his work. TUTTI - Sar's uncle and trekking leader/organiser. He knew just what we needed and his years of experience showed through. His staff and family are a credit to him. REPAL - our quiet, devout porter who did absolutely everything humanly possible to make us feel warm and comfortable. from cooking, preparing our camp gear and setting up great camping spots...Repal was a true gentleman. He was incredibly strong but also gentle and calm. DENIS - our other happy porter who carried all our gear as if it was a feather! I really enjoyed every meal he and Repal prepared. Despite the language barrier, we shared lots of laughs and smiles around the campsite and
fireside.
Sar, Repal and Denis were a mighty team and we couldn't have done any of this without their support and passion for their precious mountain village and home. It was a privilege to share the pride they have in their lovely corner of Lombok. Terima kasih, you are all great people with good hearts. Please pass on our sincere gratitude to your team and to our Lombok family for making this a very special week that will remain with me forever. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip and World Expeditions to any prospective traveller. This was my first time on an organised tour and I hope it will not be my last!
