Everest High Passes

...we shouldn't finish without mentioning admiration for the endlessly busy Mr Lama. He like all World Expeditions staff we met, was very charming and knowledgable, this characteristic seems to be a requirement for employment with the company

Everest Base Camp & Island Peak (6189m)

If the classic trek to the base of the world's highest mountain is not enough in one trip, then try our combination of Everest Base Camp, Kala Pattar, and the stunning 6189m Island Peak. Our carefully devised itinerary with a number of rest days offers an exceptional way to acclimatise safely. We ascend slowly through culturally rich Sherpa villages beyond the treeline into a barren, but dramatic land of ice, rock and towering peaks. Our first aim is to trek to both Everest Base Camp and the nearby peak of Kala Pattar (5545m) for spectacular views of Mount Everest. Well acclimatised now, our final and most challenging goal is an ascent of Island Peak under the watchful eyes of our experienced Sherpa guides. Peaks, passes, prayer wheels and hospitable people make this a truly unforgettable expedition.
