Costa Rica Traverse

The trip was wonderful, thanks!

The local operator, Coast to Coast, were very well organised and especially Danny, the lead guide, was the best guide I have ever seen in action. It was a privilege to be guided by such a well-rounded and versatile person - from navigating and motivating the group, to cooking (delicious food) and patching up blisters. And always with a smile on his face.

I am already planning my next trip with World Expeditions - rafting on the Franklin River in Tasmania.

Iran, Armenia & Georgia with Richard I'Anson

This exceptional journey, with acclaimed photographer Richard I'Anson, traces lands that have been occupied for more than 4000 years, which today simply brim with historical sites, scenic splendours and vibrant cultures. From Tehran we venture deep into the Alborz Mountains, home to the famous 'Assassins Castles' and continue via the village of Masuleh. We then head to Kandovan and Tabriz. Our journey crosses into Armenia which was once one of the most powerful empires in Asia wielding control from the Caspian to the Mediterranean seas. We travel through the mountains passing by old churches, extinct volcanoes, deep canyons and the wine growing region of Areni. Lake Sevan, Garni Pagan Temple, Geghard Cave Monastery and the holy city of Echmiadzin fill our days before continuing to Georgia, where we explore Tbilisi and Mtskheta. This trip is not to be missed.
