Snowman Trek: Bhutan

We had an absolutely fantastic time. The countryside in Bhutan is so pristine and we really enjoyed the remoteness. It certainly was physically challenging and it was a credit to the two leaders that all 10 clients completed it safely.

Bhutan Cultural Journey

This unique itinerary is packed with cultural experiences and a blend of varied day walks which will appeal to those who like to keep active whilst engaging with the rich culture and history that Bhutan has to offer. Beginning our journey in the serene Paro Valley we visit the famous Taktsang Monastery and museum before transferring by road to the Haa Valley. Here we take a walk to the Kila Gompa with views of the sacred Chomolhari peak. We have the unique experience of an overnight stay in a farmhouse before continuing over the Dochu La to Wangduephodrang where our accommodation is at a delightful lodge by the river. We visit the well known Gangtey Valley and from here we enter central Bhutan, well known for it's many monasteries and dzongs. We spend some time exploring Trongsa and it's dzong, and cross the 3590 metre Shertang La to gain entry to the Ura Valley. traveller reviews

The flight from Bangkok to Paro was very comfortable , flight staff wonderful, descent between mountains was magical(not nearly as terrifying as imagined). We were warmly greeted by our guide,Dendup Norbu and driver Tsring, after passing through the relaxed & pleasant customs(not to mention the various Bhutanese chatting to us). The accommodation was very comfortable, especially the beds! Our guide went out of his way to ensure the meals were varied and often bought & cooked special treats for us. His knowledge of Bhutanese culture and religion was extensive and enriched our experience. We felt truly welcome and through Dendup and Tsring included in the special & everyday aspects of local life. Their kindness ,patience and humour went well beyond “the job” and clearly reflected the values of Bhutanese culture. Thank you for your part in organising such a wonderful holiday.
